YOP - Doilies - Decoupage Tree - Stash

Two completed projects to show this week.
They will both benefit from a blocking soon, to help them keep their shape better.

Stash Enhancement Xercise

100% pure NZ Merino top.
Colour : Deep Rainbow.
For a needle-felting project starting sometime early(ish) 2017.

I am so lucky to have discovered a treasure, a very local hand-dyer of beautiful fibers and yarns, he lives about two streets away from me. Ian recently won a 1st prize award for a crocheted afghan made with his hand-dyed fibers.
This is my first purchase from him (the first of very many I'm beginning to think).

And just to add to the season of Jollility, here is my decoupage tree, making another appearance this year as I love it's simplicity.

  2. I'm pretty sure that fiber is terrible and you need to send it to me for proper disposal. Yeah, that's it. Disposal. On my wheel.

  9. Oooh... I especially love the white and blue and tan doily. So soft, almost ethereal looking. And how fun to live so close to someone who dies yarn! Dangerous, too, I suppose. At least it would be for me. ;^) And that tree is so cool! I'm curious what the base is made of. Your projects always make me curious. And pique my interest in doing new things.

  10. Thanks Becki. The tree is mdf board cut to shape (I bought it ready cut), and then I tore loads of Christmas Carol sheet music paper to stick on it. The board is made in two piece that slot together, but I accidentally used too much glue on my decoupage, and now the tree will not come apart anymore and has to be stored as is. Ah well, I still love it.
