A Rock Pool in a Fish Bowl

Warning - photo intensive post

..A Rock Pool in a Fish Bowl..

The Rock Pool Colony consists of heavily encrusted embroidery, hyperbolic crochet, and plenty of bead-work, on a very textured surface.

The actual stitched work is almost 12 inches across. The fish bowl is 17 inches wide.

It took over 270 hours to complete.

Here are some photos from many different angles.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Please leave a comment below as I would love to know what part, or parts, of my Rock Pool you enjoyed most.

Happy Stitching

Adore - such a creative way to use your threads! Very inspiring! Is this the first one you've done in a fish bowl? How did you get the idea?

    1. Thank you Mary-Frances. Yes this is the first one I have made, and it won't be the last as I enjoyed every part of the creation. The idea just grew from wanting to create a coral reef in crochet (which has already been done before) but I wanted mine to be unique, so I started with the mini crocheted corals (the hyperbolic crochet) and it just grew from that.

  5. Oh my! Oh my! I couldn't choose just one part, but I do love the little things made with bullions and the white puffs that stand up and wave at me! You inspire me to do something with all the zillions of beads I've collected. This is a great collage of various fibercraft. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Wow!! Love it! It's somewhat like the 'pebbles' we did on Stitchin' Fingers, but more elaborate and realistic. Fantastic stitching!
